Present day uses of Lime

Where do we use lime these days?

a.     Lime is a major ingredient [62 %] for the manufacture of cement.
b.    Lime wash is the first coat of paint on the newly plastered surface. Lime is an anti-termite and kills fungus / germs grown on the repeatedly watered surface. Secondly lime gets filled in the minute voids of the plastered surface and thereby the costlier paint used letter, gets less absorbed by the wall.
c.     Lime is one of the base material of various paints.
d.    Lime directly can be used as an economical paint.
e.     For laying white marble slabs for floor, lime is used as a cementing material. This is due to the fact that, marble is semitransparent and with the use of gray cement, it will be tinted to gray colour.
f.     Glass mosaic work on the terrace can also be done with lime.
