Rolling
Rolling is an operation in which metal stock
is passed through a pair of rollers. The heavy rollers, rotating in opposite
directions, compress the input material to a smaller thickness and larger
width. The object to be flattened by rolling process may go through number of
rollers to achieve the needed thickness.
Rolling
can be hot rolling or cold rolling depending upon the need. Cold rolled object
have smooth surfaces. All the sheets are normally rolled. Flats and strips may
also be produced by rolling process.
