4.	The blinds are hung on the “C” shaped track in which they slide [vertical blinds] or towards which fold up [horizontal blinds].	The curtains are normally hung on a round pipe on which these slide to get collected.
5	To fold up, there are gears, pulling thread, tilting rod etc. Though operating blinds is simple, there exists a delicate mechanism.	To collect the curtain on one side, normally the hooks holding the curtain slide in the bar. This is achieved normally by simple push.
6	By tilting the blinds suitably, we can prevent the sunlight but can let in the diffracted light.	Such an arrangement is not possible in curtains.
7	Washing and cleaning is difficult.	Can be washed like a cloth is washed.
8	Since the operation is mechanised to some extent, a trained mechanic is needed for repairs.	Since there is no mechanism, simple repairs like ‘torn cloth stitching’ can be done easily.
9	Elongation or contraction of length is not a problem.	Cloth can elongate or contract depending upon the quality.
10	Horizontal venetian blinds do not have any acoustic control qualities. Vertical blinds may have some acoustic control qualities.	Cotton & woollen curtains have very good acoustic control qualities.
