What do you mean by "Drawing" of metals?

 Drawing.
Drawing is a process used for manufacturing wires. In drawing metal is pulled through a die-opening by a tensile force. In extrusion, we have seen that it is pushed through the die-opening by the compressive force. Like other processes, in drawing too, both ‘cold drawing’ and ‘hot drawing’ are in use.
The input stock’s insertion end is initially made spiky [pointed] so that it passes through the die-opening. Then this end is held by the puller and pulled out. For cold drawing more tensile power is required than that for hot drawing. Though the drawing process is widely adopted for most of the wires, it is also used many times for round bars, square bars, angles, ‘T’s etc.
