       Why acrylic sheets are not used for windowpanes?

ANS.          The reason for, Acrylic sheets not being used as window panes are,

     1. Acrylic sheets are not hard. Scratches are developed on these sheets even while cleaning / wiping.
2. Acrylic sheet are not tough enough and with a moderate push, the panes may come out.
3. Since acrylic is a plastic material, the finish of acrylic sheets becomes dull over a period of time.
4. Due to temperature variations, crystallisation cracks appear in acrylic sheets.
5.   Acrylic sheets are more expensive than glass.
